Why are the Harry Potter ultimate edition DVDs so expensive in Australia?
In the U.S., they're around $26, whereas in Australia, the cheapest I've been able to find is $65! Why???
They're brand new so they'll be pricier for a bit. If they can get people to buy for $65 rather than $30 and people buy then companies are going to aren't they? Yes it is unsavoury but that's the way it goes...
$26 is the special price (I looked at Walmart) but the recommended retail price is $40.
Place like Walmart can buy in bulk far better than here in Australia (their population is over 250 million compared to Australia's little over 20 million.)
In the US they pay people minimal wages and I mean minimal (absolute minimum is around $5 per hour- that's less than a 15 year old gets here.)
